Art & Luxury Fair

February 7–8, 12:00–18:00 · Hotel Huis ter Duin, Noordwijk aan Zee

Minoan Myth · Archaic Memory · Contemporary Archaeology

Athanasia Iris transforms ancient Greek myths into a contemporary visual language. Inspired by the Minoan world, her ceramic and bronze sculptures, wall pieces, and paintings navigate the space between archaic symbolism and modern abstraction. Recurring motifs—such as the Labyrinth, Ariadne’s thread, and the inner journey—guide the viewer through layers of myth and meaning.

Her work is a form of contemporary archaeology, excavating ancient symbols and reimagining them with a ritualistic and timeless intensity. The vibrant palette of red, gold, bronze, and white amplifies the sacred energy of her sculptures.

At the Art & Luxury Fair, one of the most prestigious international art and luxury events, organized by Annette Wijdom, Athanasia will present key works including Thread and the Labyrinth and Icarus. These pieces open a dialogue between mythology, transformation, and the human search for freedom and direction.

Her book Plato, Aeschylus and Post Avant-Garde Art is also available for consultation, connecting classical Greek texts with her contemporary practice and offering a deeper philosophical perspective for visitors.
